Nursery
Formal Consultation on plans to extend nursery provision at Leagrave Primary School
Dear Parents and Carers,
Leagrave Primary School is a large, successful school in Luton. We take pride in ensuring our pupils receive an outstanding education and that every child thrives during their time here. We are a happy and positive school where diversity is celebrated and enjoyed, and children feel safe and supported. Leagrave currently caters for children from 3 years of age. We are exploring the possibility of expanding our nursery offer from September 2025 and providing more services to parents and families in our community. This letter marks the beginning of the consultation period in which you can help develop the future of our nursery classes.
Rationale
Leagrave frequently receives enquiries from families on the possibility of our school extending nursery classes. We currently have 30 pupils across morning, afternoon, and full day sessions with the option of school dinners being provided, whilst also offering breakfast club and after school care.
Both 15- and 30-hour funded provision is available to parents who are eligible.
Plans to develop our offer could include increasing admissions, extending operating hours, and providing holiday care should there be enough interest..
Next steps
A period of consultation begins today, 27/11/2024 and will run for 3 weeks. The final day of the consultation is 18/12/2024. During this period, you are invited to respond to our proposal, and we would love to hear your views.
Any responses must be received in writing by the end of the consultation period either by email to [email protected] or by letter to the School Office. We have included a parent survey that will help us shape our offer. You can get a copy of this from the school office.
In the meantime, if you are a new parent and interested in learning more about our plans for a nursery, including expressing an interest for a place, please get in touch as soon as possible.
Regards
Mrs E Gillespie
